Based from the awesome and factual documentary Super Size Me, from my critical point of view I would conclude that Fast Food, fast food restaurant or anything that related to fast food doesn't have to do with the increase of obesity in the United States and the world. There are several reasons and supreme justifications that just might support my reasons.
First of all it is the due to the laziness of nowadays people and their dependency towards the advancement of human technology in order to make human lives EASY or in other words LAZY. The existence of technology that supposed to ease human basic needs actually drags them to the blink of laziness.Even in the documentary Morgan Spurlock didn't performed any form of exercise during his own experiment in eating McDonald's for a month. He only knows how to eat McDonald's fast food and at the same time he could do some exercise to overcome the fast food problem but he didn't. Thus leads to his illness such as severe headache and his increase in body weight
In addition, the advancement technology leads to the obesity of mankind. Just like in the documentary itself where obese people used machines to help themselves to move around. It may seem convenient but in fact it does not cure people instead it only helps them to get what they want easily. For example most people rely too much on the existence of elevators and
escalators which enables them to move around in a building with ease and
without the aid of their strength. Thus reducing their energy use to
exercise and increase their chances to get obesity.
Last but not least, the environment plays a role in the increase of obesity. Nowadays people in the United States cities are in a hurry in terms of work, pleasure and entertainment. Therefore they don't pay much attention on food as long as it can be prepared fast and it satisfies their hunger. Thus they eat fast food that has high content of calorific value which leads may lead obesity just as stated in the documentary.
In a nutshell I conclude that fast food companies doesn't have to do with the increase of obesity. It is humanity itself who are too lazy and dependent that makes them obese. Therefore it is important for humans to realize their mistake and thus overcome it by any means necessary.

The second picture symbolizes everything about obesity.
ReplyDeletenowadays people are lazy to do the exercise...so fast food cannot be blame...i agree with you martin...
ReplyDeletethe last picture where the african-american with a supersized burger depicts how bad are people craving for fast food. from my point of view, the fast food consumers themselves should be aware of the calories contained in the fast food which might cause them to be obese. thus, as raja said, they should go out sometimes and do regular exercise as to burn the calories in their body. otherwise, they have to minimal the intake of fast food in order to overcome the obesity problem. (no in between)
ReplyDeleteFast food cannot be blame towards obesity problem but fast food still can cause bad effects to people around the world. Your last point is explanation everything. Environment plays an important role to influence people to increase obesity.
ReplyDeletei agree with you! fast food is not the main cause of obesity in this world because it is actually depends on the people itself, they the one should be blame on their habits in taking the fast food without do any exercise :)
